Best new theatre at The National
James Corden was a hit with the critics in ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’ by Richard Bean. The stellar production snapped up the award for the best new play from Critics’ Circle. The National theatre seemed to be the venue for most of the annual award winners as it received five awards, which was announced last Tuesday during lunch time.
Frankenstein and Grief were among other hits with Mike Leigh winning best director and Benedict Cumberbatch beating Jonny Lee Miller for best actor. The two actors in Frankenstein apparently switched lead roles, which must have caused a bit of a stir between the two.
